California Pro Bono Legal Information, Resources and Assistance

California Pro Bono General Overview: There are no pro bono services provided by the State Bar. A good place to begin a search for pro bono legal services is the site Law Help California and the American Bar Association (ABA).

Law Help California: LawHelpCalifornia.org provides low-income Californians with easy online access to basic legal resources and attorney information. LawHelpCalifornia does not provide direct legal services.

American Bar Association: The ABA amongst other services allows people to search for pro bono services by state. However, it does not provide direct legal services. As in many cases eligibility is determined by income. For reference view the most recent poverty guidelines.
